Merry Christmas
Hey, guys! Merry Christmas. What a week! I have been moving so fast that in the past two weeks, I have lost my credit card, cell phone, and wireless card among other things. I need to slow down, and I am using today to do so. I have been totally neglecting my blog. I simply need to download the blogspot application for my Blackberry. Sometimes, I get so busy that I don't have time to do simple things. In fact, I need to switch to Wordpress in the next two weeks and rebrand. Bet! Djing is going well. I am djing New Years Eve. and on January 5th. I will be sure to post the details. Stop by. Have a blessed day, and thank you for reading my words.....

Silent Thunder
Hi, everyone. I have not been here in a while. I'm been super focused. I'm in the best shape of my life and back into sample sizes. I vow never to let others distract me. Honestly, I just want to hang up out Type A, smart, and focused people. Call me a snob.
DJing is picking up. I just DJed a fashion show at the Brooklyn Museum, and I will be working heavily with Mary J. Blige and Steve Stoute's Foundation F.F.A.W.N. in the upcoming year. In fact, they featured me on their website this month. To see my spotlight, visit http://www.ffawn.org. I would say, on average, I DJ twice a month which is good for me since I'm so busy.
GoodGirlPR is buzzing in the media world. This month, we had three placements in Essence, one in inTouch Weekly, one in Sister 2 Sister Magazine, one in Redbook, the National Credit Union Magazine (we're doing banking PR now), one on INC.'s website, a plethora of blogs, and I met with some major, mainstream editors this month, one of which asked me to be their business partner. I've transitioned into the mainstream world, and that has been my focus since January. I am very particular about the events I attend now.
Last night, I met the producer of the CBS's Early Show, and he knew who I was which was an honor. He said, "You have street cred." His comment reminded me that I am on the right path. I'm all about surrounding myself with people who are positive, consistent, and appreciate what I have to offer.
In 2011, I will commence a DJ Nickiee campaign. GoodGirlPR has been my brand priority for the past two years, and I'm proud to say that my company is fully branded. I need GoodGirlPR to uplift my other businesses and goals, and that has been my strategy since day one. Sacrifice! There is a time and place for everything.

Back to the Big Apple
I've decided that I will be living outside of New York once a month. I'll surprise you with the destination every month. I need to explore as much as possible while I don't have any children. I have the freedom to go and be any where that I want to, and I am definitely going to take advantage of it.

Been on Hiatus
I came to Denver for a few days, and I have been here for almost two weeks. Working, of course, but at my pace. Sometimes, the energy of the city can be overwhelming. Everyone is in such a hurry. Everything is a fire drill. Everything is magnified. I need a break from time to time. You have to step out of the norm for clarity. I know that I've said this before, but it rings so true each time.
My grandmother said, "I have never seen anybody work so hard." Today, two people commented that, "Rome was not built in a day." So, I think it is time to establish work-life balance starting today. This trip gave me so much perspective.

What Happens In Vegas...Stays In Vegas
On my way from five days in Las Vegas. I met the most interesting lady on the plane. Flying is such a great way to network! Vegas was great! I partied a little at the Wynn Hotel and worked a lot as usual. My friends and I came out for the Floyd Mayweather fight. I had no idea that it was so ghetto or perhaps there are some new fashion trends that I don't know about because I am one with my laptop. Trips always open my eyes as usual. Everyone on the trip said that I work too hard and for me not to burn out. The problem is that I never think that I work hard enough? Well, I am going to try to keep up with my blog. I am just so busy. If don't blog, just know that I am very focused. I think I am done for the night. I have been up working since 6:30am PST.

Getting Organized
I didn't blog about this, but I had to replace my computer in October. I have been spending the past four months organizing and strategizing how to dj while maintaining my other endeavors. I am definitely going to be DJing more, and you will be seeing me a little bit of everywhere!

Dreams
I had a dream last night about my Grandmother. I was supposed to go to Atlanta today for an event, but luckily travel plans were shaky so I booked a flight to Denver. I am on the plane now. I made a vow to visit my family at least one per month. I admit it is becoming more and more difficult to be away from them. I can't wait to take my Grandfather for a walk and to chill with my Grandma. They made me! I know I get some caught up in the matrix and in the daily grind of making it in the big City, but my priorities are straight. Have a great weekend.

Electro Transformation
I am really starting to get into Electro music. The door opened last year, and I am going to officially start playing more electro and getting gigs in that market. I started djing because I love hip-hop but the crowd that my PR company brings out are not die hard hip-hop fans. I'm excited about my new path, and I know my ear for electro is going to open many doors.

Getting Started Early
I started my day early. I just get more things accomplished when I wake up early. I am working for the next few hours. Then, I am going to Crunch to do some exercises. Oh, I am a DJ for Crunch and am going to be DJing with Equinox in a matter of time because that's what I want to do :-). This is fantastic news since I am such a gym rat. I can't wait to show off my hard work this summer. Age is such a number! I am better shape now than at 21. Each Saturday, I take an African Dance class at Alvin Alley as well. I absolutely love it! I wonder when I am going to graduate from the beginner class? It's never too late to start something new. Soccer season is over, but Rachel Noerlinger, Al Sharpton's publicist, and I will be going a new league. I think the key is befriending people who enjoy the same activities as you. There is more to life than fruitless industry parties. I want to challenge my mind and body always.
Unfortunately, I am not going home this weekend to see my family. I miss them, and am I little home sick. Thank goodness, Jane Carter invited me over for Easter Weekend. Have a great Easter! If I am at her house, it will be a weekend of working and playing hard-Wine, the jacuzzi, and my laptop. The Jane Carter Solution just got into Target. I hope that I accomplish something of the magnitude in my lifetime. You have to surround yourself around the people you aspire to be! That's the only way. On that note, peace and blessings....

DJ Nickiee Spins at GoodGirlPR's Women In the Industry
I am amazed. At this point, I can put together an event in a couple of days. Assuming there is free alcohol, at least 200 people will show up! This event means a lot to me because it gives women in the industry an opportunity to truly network in a fun environment. This event will also serve as a celebration of my client, The Jane Carter Solution being sold in Target which is HUGE!. Click here for information regarding the event.
I am excited to be working with Jones Magazine and will have a full page ad in its first issue (Thanks for the opportunity).
Please note: I am in the process of moving my blog to Wordpress for various, NERDY reasons. I will keep you informed. Have a great, productive day. Remember, start TODAY. Kisses....

DJ Nickiee in Beyond Race Magazine
I am in Williamsburg. I finally completed my photo shoot with Beyond Race Magazine. The photographer was Robert Adam Mayer. Check out his portfolio: http://www.robertadammayer.com. Robert was really cool, and he loves hip-hop just as much as I do. He still has faith in hip-hop. I admit my love for hip-hop has diminished after being in this "industry" for less than a year. I just want to play records. I really have no desire to work with "hip-hop personnel" but for a select few. If I work with you it's because I believe in you, you are intelligent, you have good energy, and/or it's going to benefit one of my businesses (being honest). I made a conscious decisions to move in the fashion and corporate direction as of January 1, 2010. Check out the new blog HAUTE . Mission accomplished. I will never box myself in...
I styled the photo shoot myself. Ummm? I wore a hat in the shoot because I wanted to run this morning instead of having cute hair LOL. Since the photo shoot is over, I have been at an open-windowed coffee since the conclusion of the shoot. Headed to Clinton Hill for a meeting. I'm on my Brooklyn shit today. Sometimes, you just need a change of scenery.

Soccer Pushes Me
I just finished two soccer games. I play with another publicist, Rachel Noerlinger, when I am in town. This sport is so rigorous, but it inspires me to go hard, take a risk, get better! I always rush the ball but I need to learn to take my time with it. Now, I'm off to the gym to lift weights. I am determined to be in the best shape of my life everyday of my life!

Going Back to Denver....
Hey, there. It's a minute. I think I am going to switch the blog over to Wordpress which will enable me to blog more frequently from my Blackberry. I am managing so many different projects and am in major transition. You have not heard from me because I have been working extremely hard. The beginning of the year is the time where I plant my seeds so I can reap the harvest in the Fall. I learned this point from my homeboy, True Master, and it really works!
I am still exercising which will be a constant factor in my life. I have two trainers, take African dance, yoga, play soccer, and lord knows what else depending on my mood.
Djing is going well. I finally found a place to fix my turntables so I can practice at least an hour a day! My PR business is booming. We just got a new client, and I receive business inquiries on a daily basis. I am only as good as I team-and I have a great one! I am blessed to have a group of people who humble themselves to work with me and learn as I learn.
I am headed to Denver to see my family which I will NEVER neglect again because of the industry grind. I can't wait to give my Grandmother a hug! I asked her to fix me some fried chicken and she is. She has spoiled me to death (I'm blessed!)
I also am venturing to Winter Park for the Black Ski Summit. It will be cool to meet new people. That is what life is all about. I am the happiest I have been because I realize that in life..there will be trials and tribulations, but you have to deal with it and face it. I am happy because I am strong enough to deal with it and face it so I'm going to smile everyday and do all the things that I want.
I look forward to my ski vacation. I earned it, and I deserve it. PEACE & BLESSINGS....

Update alert!
I have been extremely busy. I have a staff of six people, and I have been trying to spend more time training and guiding them. I can't do this alone so being a good leader is important to me. Since I last blogged, I have gotten so much accomplished and literally everything has fallen in place for me. I am truly blessed. I decided to apply to Harvard for a program that I think will greatly benefit my businesses and future. Wish me luck! I have been djing more as well, but I have not had time to post the events on my blog, but I will be sure to make more of a concerted effort- I am juggling several projects right now. My PR company, GoodGirlPR is booming with the help of my staff especially Natasha B. who believed in and stuff with me through the rough times. We just signed a huge client, and I can't wait to announce the news. To be honest, I can't believe it! I have never worked this hard before and continue to be amazed by how everything is unfolding.
