Look Another Female DJ!

The Enchanted Events of Atlanta event went well. All of my Atlanta peeps came out to support me and my client's new event planning company. As usual people were surprised that I was "good." At the beginning the party, the bartender said, "Look another female dj!" with a sigh. By the end of the night, I had his respect and requests too lol.

I finally placed a DJ Nickiee quick mix on the site for those who haven't heard me. Send me an @ reply on Twitter, and let me know what you think. I admit I would have more bookings if I provided a mix, but I haven't had the time and patience to sit down and record one.

I finally got the clippings of my article in Sister 2 Sister Magazine. Yay! So, I emailed the article to 10k people, and guess what? A publisher called me about writing a book. I told her that I would have it completed by the end of the summer! When one door closes, another one always opens.

Sister 2 Sister Magazine Here I Come

I need to start blogging more (I always say this lol). I think I may have more time now. I have two assistants, and an overall staff of 23 people and counting so that means more time for me (one would think). I finally set up my turntables in my new pad, and they don't have dust on them. I am still on my mission to succeed as a female dj (deejay). Program directors are definitely paying attention and sending me sample airchecks. Last week, I had the opportunity to DJ at Deejays for Japan. See the picture of me and DJ Chris Washington above. The lineup was cool - D-Nice, M.O.S., just to name a few.

Sister 2 Sister is also doing a column on me in the magazine. Crossing my fingers on Lucky Magazine! Also my right hand, Natasha Boyd, is being featured in Redbook. Press begets press; therefore I am predicting me and my team will be in many more magazines in 2011/2012. I do own a PR firm (lol). I come from a school of thought that believes that if you want something, you have to do it yourself.

Last week, I had an awesome interview as well, and I hope that I inspire people to start their own business. Click HERE to tune in.

You'll be hearing again from me very soon!

Silent Thunder

Hi, everyone. I have not been here in a while. I'm been super focused. I'm in the best shape of my life and back into sample sizes. I vow never to let others distract me. Honestly, I just want to hang up out Type A, smart, and focused people. Call me a snob.

DJing is picking up. I just DJed a fashion show at the Brooklyn Museum, and I will be working heavily with Mary J. Blige and Steve Stoute's Foundation F.F.A.W.N. in the upcoming year. In fact, they featured me on their website this month. To see my spotlight, visit http://www.ffawn.org. I would say, on average, I DJ twice a month which is good for me since I'm so busy.

GoodGirlPR is buzzing in the media world. This month, we had three placements in Essence, one in inTouch Weekly, one in Sister 2 Sister Magazine, one in Redbook, the National Credit Union Magazine (we're doing banking PR now), one on INC.'s website, a plethora of blogs, and I met with some major, mainstream editors this month, one of which asked me to be their business partner. I've transitioned into the mainstream world, and that has been my focus since January. I am very particular about the events I attend now.

Last night, I met the producer of the CBS's Early Show, and he knew who I was which was an honor. He said, "You have street cred." His comment reminded me that I am on the right path. I'm all about surrounding myself with people who are positive, consistent, and appreciate what I have to offer.

In 2011, I will commence a DJ Nickiee campaign. GoodGirlPR has been my brand priority for the past two years, and I'm proud to say that my company is fully branded. I need GoodGirlPR to uplift my other businesses and goals, and that has been my strategy since day one. Sacrifice! There is a time and place for everything.
