Happy Easter

I'll be in New York for this Easter holiday. I'm going to cook, too. I am actually a really good cook if you can believe it. My sweetie said that he didn't think I could cook by looking at me. What is that supposed to mean lol? I really need to go home and visit my family. My grandparents are getting older and are not the same. I am so glad that I went to law school in Colorado to be closer to them. I admit time just flashes by in the Big City, but I do not forget the people that helped me. My grandmother and cousin, Terry, have been the most supportive of me when I decided to start my business, and I am still paying them back.

This week was very eventful. GoodGirlPR is growing like wild fire by using my DJ Nickiee platform to support it. I literally have five PR pitches scheduled next week; two of which are with a cosmetic dentist and a plastic surgeon-sounds fun. I hired a sales person as well, and he's good!. I also had a great lunch meeting with Bossip.com. And, last night, I fired yet another intern, but I hired three. As much as I want to mentor people, I don't have time for people's excuses and bullshit. Three strikes and you're out!

The DJing world is cool. I still have to get the DJ Nickiee brand together. I would say on average, I DJ twice a month. In fact, I am djing a red carpet event for a company called the Enchanted Events of Atlanta in May (the invite is above). Honestly, I am inviting every Atlanta based publicist and event planner in the Atlanta metro area. It's all about working smarter not harder. I get it now.

Happy Easter.

Silent Thunder

Hi, everyone. I have not been here in a while. I'm been super focused. I'm in the best shape of my life and back into sample sizes. I vow never to let others distract me. Honestly, I just want to hang up out Type A, smart, and focused people. Call me a snob.

DJing is picking up. I just DJed a fashion show at the Brooklyn Museum, and I will be working heavily with Mary J. Blige and Steve Stoute's Foundation F.F.A.W.N. in the upcoming year. In fact, they featured me on their website this month. To see my spotlight, visit http://www.ffawn.org. I would say, on average, I DJ twice a month which is good for me since I'm so busy.

GoodGirlPR is buzzing in the media world. This month, we had three placements in Essence, one in inTouch Weekly, one in Sister 2 Sister Magazine, one in Redbook, the National Credit Union Magazine (we're doing banking PR now), one on INC.'s website, a plethora of blogs, and I met with some major, mainstream editors this month, one of which asked me to be their business partner. I've transitioned into the mainstream world, and that has been my focus since January. I am very particular about the events I attend now.

Last night, I met the producer of the CBS's Early Show, and he knew who I was which was an honor. He said, "You have street cred." His comment reminded me that I am on the right path. I'm all about surrounding myself with people who are positive, consistent, and appreciate what I have to offer.

In 2011, I will commence a DJ Nickiee campaign. GoodGirlPR has been my brand priority for the past two years, and I'm proud to say that my company is fully branded. I need GoodGirlPR to uplift my other businesses and goals, and that has been my strategy since day one. Sacrifice! There is a time and place for everything.

DJ Nickiee Spins at GoodGirlPR's Women In the Industry

I am amazed. At this point, I can put together an event in a couple of days. Assuming there is free alcohol, at least 200 people will show up! This event means a lot to me because it gives women in the industry an opportunity to truly network in a fun environment. This event will also serve as a celebration of my client, The Jane Carter Solution being sold in Target which is HUGE!. Click here for information regarding the event.

I am excited to be working with Jones Magazine and will have a full page ad in its first issue (Thanks for the opportunity).

Please note: I am in the process of moving my blog to Wordpress for various, NERDY reasons. I will keep you informed. Have a great, productive day. Remember, start TODAY. Kisses....

DJ Nickiee in Beyond Race Magazine

I am in Williamsburg. I finally completed my photo shoot with Beyond Race Magazine. The photographer was Robert Adam Mayer. Check out his portfolio: http://www.robertadammayer.com. Robert was really cool, and he loves hip-hop just as much as I do. He still has faith in hip-hop. I admit my love for hip-hop has diminished after being in this "industry" for less than a year. I just want to play records. I really have no desire to work with "hip-hop personnel" but for a select few. If I work with you it's because I believe in you, you are intelligent, you have good energy, and/or it's going to benefit one of my businesses (being honest). I made a conscious decisions to move in the fashion and corporate direction as of January 1, 2010. Check out the new blog HAUTE . Mission accomplished. I will never box myself in...

I styled the photo shoot myself. Ummm? I wore a hat in the shoot because I wanted to run this morning instead of having cute hair LOL. Since the photo shoot is over, I have been at an open-windowed coffee since the conclusion of the shoot. Headed to Clinton Hill for a meeting. I'm on my Brooklyn shit today. Sometimes, you just need a change of scenery.

Update alert!

I have been extremely busy. I have a staff of six people, and I have been trying to spend more time training and guiding them. I can't do this alone so being a good leader is important to me. Since I last blogged, I have gotten so much accomplished and literally everything has fallen in place for me. I am truly blessed. I decided to apply to Harvard for a program that I think will greatly benefit my businesses and future. Wish me luck! I have been djing more as well, but I have not had time to post the events on my blog, but I will be sure to make more of a concerted effort- I am juggling several projects right now. My PR company, GoodGirlPR is booming with the help of my staff especially Natasha B. who believed in and stuff with me through the rough times. We just signed a huge client, and I can't wait to announce the news. To be honest, I can't believe it! I have never worked this hard before and continue to be amazed by how everything is unfolding.

DJ Nickiee Featured Blogger on HipHopWeekly.com

It's 4:15am in Barcelona, and I am up working. I have to post this picture of me sleeping earlier with my shoes on and purse across my shoulders-knocked out. I ate too much paella and sangria. When I get back, I am doing three-a-days, yoga, weights, and running.

I don't know if I mentioned this but, I am a featured blogger on this website called HipHopWeekly.com. The cover of the last issue is above.

I have been a blogger on the site for the past couple of months. Tonight, while I was internet surfing, I came across this really good content regarding Tila Tequila and Rihanna so I wrote a quick blog entry. Click here to read it.

Good Morning.......

I went to bed early last night. I was overwhelmed with all of the good news. I closed one door in my life, then all of a sudden all of these doors opened up. I don't know where to start. You will see everything when it comes to fruition. A major record label has granted me the privileges to work from their offices. I admit I have always wanted to work at a label, and I am officially in the building. My first day was yesterday, and I already received a new project.

I also met with one of the top PR firm companies in the world. I will be djing all of their brand events with Kim Kardashian (I will keep you posted) along with the company giving GoodGirlPR freelance PR work. They just so happen to represent all of the number one brands. Remember the Hennessey Black event with Ms. Kardashian? I am in the family now. I have no idea how this fell in my lap, but I am going to ride it out.

I had a long talk with my good friend, Mayhem. It had been a while for various reasons. When my personal life is not in order, I tend to alienate those who really care about me because I don't want to hear their mouths LOL. He's like my big brother, and I wanted to get my shit together on all planes before I spoke to him. I'm trying to convince him to come back to the music business. He started this new company called Broker of the Stars. In the music business, you have to have at least two streams of income (he taught be that!). I think he is what hip hop needs. He worked in the business part-time while in real estate, and had 3 hit records in less than 2 years. I'm going to bring him back, and I've built a solid infrastructure to set off anything we start. I have my team-and it's a dope one.

I'm going to get the gym out the way early. I think I'm going to run the Westside then run to the gym. Then off to the office. Peace and Blessings, Everyone. Remember dreams do come true but you have to be proactive.

Productive Day

I just got back from Cipha Sounds Comedy Show Series at Comix. There was a huge turn out, plus the comedians were hilarious. (I will post pictures on www.goodgirlpr.blogspot.com). Today was Peter Rosenberg's birthday so I gave him cupcakes from, Who Made That Cake. I have been laughing since Friday. This comedian by the name of Dawn B. and her friend, DK, cracked me up all day long on Saturday-just when I needed it. They minded me that life goes on, and laugther is the perfect fuel to keeping it moving. Overall, I had a good, productive day. On the way home, I ran into Marc from Grae Enterprises-I took the long way home so that I could chat with him.

Today, I received a life changing phone call. I will let you know what happens with it in the next couple of weeks. I don't want to jinx it.

Dinner with BlogXilla

I just finished having dinner with BlogXilla. It was interesting having dinner with a sex columnist. I admit I wanted to ask him questions, but I held back. Let's keep it business. I was so intrigued that I went to his site called www.blogxilla.com. As usual, I work so much that I don't have time to read other people's blog nevertheless write in my own. I admit I have never trouble in that department-not enough to ask someone for help. The funny thing is that I work so much that sex is just not a priority like it used to be. As a result, the S word has become more sacred.
